Exclusive: Spider-Man: Brand New Day director offers update on Shang-Chi 2

Now, Spider-Man: Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton has shared a huge update on the superhero's future within the MCU. Speaking exclusively with Digital Spy at the London premiere of Brand New Day, Cretton confirmed that the Shang-Chi sequel is indeed in the works.
"We are currently in development, trying to crack it. So fingers crossed," he said. Cretton, who also directed the first movie, explained how working on Shang-Chi helped shape the narrative in Brand New Day. "I think Shang-Chi taught me that, no matter how big your movie gets, it's really the small moments that matter the most," he shared. In my opinion, this is a crucial insight. The success of a superhero film often hinges on these intimate, character-driven moments, rather than grand action sequences.
